Exploding Kittens is a team-based review game where students answer questions to earn the chance to draw cards and collect points.
The game combines English review with a little risk and reward. The more cards a team draws, the more points they can earn — but they also increase their chance of drawing a Bomb!
The goal is simple: finish the game with as many points as possible!
The Normal Card Deck contains point cards and dangerous cards. Every time a team chooses Draw, the top card of the deck is revealed.
Point cards add points to the team's current score.
Drawing a Bomb is dangerous!
When a Bomb is drawn, the current team's score for the turn becomes 0 points.
The Bomb ends the team's turn and play moves to the next team.
The Nuclear Bomb is the most dangerous card in the Normal Deck.
When a Nuclear Bomb is drawn, all teams' scores are reset to 0.
When a team receives the Normal Card Deck, they have an important decision to make: Draw or Stop?
Choosing Draw reveals the top card from the Normal Deck.
The team can earn more points, but there is also a chance of drawing a Bomb or Nuclear Bomb.
Choosing Stop locks in the points the team has collected.
The team gives up the opportunity to draw another card and keeps the points they have earned.
Sometimes a correct answer rewards the team with a Special Card instead of the Normal Card Deck.
When this happens, the team has two choices:
This Special Card causes the current team to lose all of its points.
This Special Card allows the current team to choose another team and switch points with them.
Important: If the Change Points card is revealed, the points must be changed. There are no exceptions, even if the current team already has the highest score.
Here is a quick look at every card that can appear in the game.
Exploding Kittens is about deciding how much risk your team is willing to take.
